Company History

The year was 1969 and a communication revolution was about to begin. When four computers started talking to each other down a telephone line, the Internet was born. Fast forward 34 years and James Shiner, founder of Northie Interactive, decided that even after all this time the Internet was missing a key piece: well designed, fully functional, and easy to navigate websites.

Shiner set out with the goal of providing quality websites at affordable prices. At the time more businesses did not have websites than did, and he saw this as a great opportunity. This was before the days of Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and most of the other sites that we all enjoy today. The journey wasn't easy, as most companies at the time did not see the value in a website. Shiner made it his goal to change that.

In May of 2004 we added web hosting services to provide our clients with reliable hosting for their website. Our hosting packages are affordable and come with analytics, unlimited email addresses and plenty of bandwidth.

In March of 2005, we expanded our services to include printing. We offered business cards, envelopes, letterhead, pens, t-shirts and much more. We have recently decided to discontinue these services to focus on our core services. We do however have great relationships with printing companies so if you need anything just be sure to ask.

In June of 2010 Facebook, Twitter and Email marketing were added to complete our online marketing solutions. We also completely revamped our website and launched Northie 3.0. We're seeing excellent growth which we're sure will continue into the future.
